Trying to bulk up and increase mass may mean consuming protein drinks to help your muscles recover and grow faster. Whey protein, which is a high quality protein derived from dairy, mostly milk, is a common source of protein used in shakes and drinks. However, if the chalkiness of protein drinks is unappealing to you, even when using the chocolate whey version, there are ways to improve the flavor and consistency.
Step 1
Scoop the whey chocolate protein powder into a smoothie filled with several other ingredients rather than drinking it mixed with just water or milk. Smoothies can hide the taste of the protein powder while still giving you a chocolaty drink.

Step 2
Cut up 1 fresh banana and 1 cup strawberries and blend them with your chocolate whey protein powder drink. The fresh fruit can add sweetness, along with numerous vitamins and minerals.
Step 3
Include a scoop or two of chocolate whey protein powder in your morning oatmeal. Cook oatmeal as normal; just add the protein powder when you add the water to allow the powder to completely mix into the oatmeal. Along with added protein, you will be getting whole grains and plenty of fiber.
Step 4
Mix a scoop of chocolate whey protein powder into 1 cup of vanilla yogurt for a creamy and sweet treat that is now packed with protein.
Step 5
Add 1 tbsp. of chocolate sauce to enhance the chocolate whey flavor. Keep your chocolate sauce portions under control to avoid adding a ton of sugar or fat to your protein drinks, but a small amount can improve the taste.
