Prune juice is known to relieve constipation by acting as a natural laxative. Vinegar — especially apple cider vinegar — is known to control appetite. Together, they may be able to help you with your weight loss goals.
Like juice cleanses for weight loss, apple cider vinegar gets a reputation for being a quick solution to losing stubborn fat. However, there are other factors that go into losing weight. If you consume prune juice and apple cider vinegar, be sure to combine it with diet and exercise for optimal results.

Tip
Will drinking prune juice help you lose weight? Prune juice and apple cider vinegar can be used as part of your weight loss regimen. However, they alone do not guarantee you will lose weight without proper diet and exercise.
Lose Weight With Prune Juice
There is a reason why many weight loss products, such as detox teas, cause users to frequently visit the toilet. Emptying your bowels gives the illusion of a flatter stomach, while a full, bloated stomach does the opposite.
While over-the-counter laxatives are tempting for quick elimination, experts at Mayo Clinic warn about the risks of laxative dependency and decreased bowel function. Prune juice is an alternative to over-the-counter laxatives because it is a natural and mild stimulant. However, the flatter stomach effect may also be a result of elimination, not loss of belly fat.
Will drinking prune juice help lose weight? There is no research that suggests prune juice leads to weight loss, though the high-fiber content is believed to keep you feeling fuller for longer.
In a May 2014 study conducted by the University of Liverpool, researchers found that people with obesity who ate little fiber experienced increased feelings of fullness after 12 weeks of prune consumption. Though the study uses prunes instead of prune juice, this information is significant because it shows that weight loss and appetite control is possible with prune products.
Lose Weight With Vinegar
There are several animal studies that show the health benefits — including weight loss — of apple cider vinegar, but the limited human studies yield mixed results.
A May 2014 study published in the International Journal of Obesity responded to the popularity of apple cider vinegar products. Researchers found that consuming vinegar involves feeling of nausea. The study does not recommend vinegar of any kind as a natural appetite suppressant, though the study did not check for weight loss. Other studies showed more promising results.
An older study published in the August 2009 issue of Bioscience, Biotechnology and Biochemistry recommends vinegar consumption for preventing metabolic syndrome and reducing obesity. Subjects consumed either 1 or 2 tablespoons of vinegar per day, and researchers found that the weight loss results were significant.
A June 2019 study published in the International Journal of Medical Research & Health Sciences found that apple cider vinegar can be used as a supplement for weight reduction. The study involved rats with obesity and people with type 2 diabetes. In animal and human subjects, apple cider vinegar was an effective treatment for obesity, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
It appears that vinegar consumption can help aid in weight loss, though it is not a pleasant experience. More human studies are needed since the research is limited and results have been varied.
