Toaster ovens are smaller than regular ovens, which is among its advantages. In hot weather, a toaster oven will not heat up the kitchen; it doesn't use as much power as a big oven; and it is ideal for dorm rooms, offices and vacation homes. Bake biscuits in a toaster oven just as you would in a conventional kitchen oven. The toaster oven can bake only a few biscuits at a time, which may be ideal for singles and small batches.
Types of Toaster Ovens
Video of the Day
Toaster ovens come in different sizes and price points. The simplest and smallest have heating elements on the top and bottom and a "Toast/Bake" dial for adjusting the heat. Even these basic ovens come with a baking tray and wire rack. The baking tray is used for biscuits and is big enough to bake three of four. Larger toaster ovens are capable of baking a dozen biscuits and have optional convection fans. Convection toaster ovens are especially good for baking biscuits because of the even heat dispersion.

Biscuits From Scratch
Basic biscuit recipes consist of flour, shortening, salt, water and baking powder. Adding more water to the biscuit dough means you can drop portions onto the baking sheet. Drop biscuits are easy and convenient when you have neither the time nor space to roll out biscuit dough and cut them into rounds. Whichever type of biscuit you make, a full recipe may not bake all at once in the toaster oven because of its smaller size. Prepare to bake several batches or halve the recipe to make fewer biscuits.
Biscuits From Mix
Using a "just add water" biscuit or pancake mix makes it really easy to bake just a few biscuits at a time. Many packaged mixes have recipes printed on the box. For instance, if the recipe makes a dozen biscuits, simply halve it or quarter it for six or three biscuits at a time. Temperature settings on the toaster oven are identical to a conventional oven. The advantage of the toaster oven is the speed with which it achieves the baking temperature, usually 350 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit for biscuits.
Baking Pans
Toaster oven-size pans are available in kitchen stores and online. The easiest pan to use for making biscuits is a muffin pan. Simply drop the dough into the cups and bake individual biscuits. Larger toaster ovens that can accommodate pie pans will bake biscuits placed in a circle around the inside of the pan.
