Some models of NordicTrack treadmills come equipped with support for special modules capable of networking with the company's "iFit Live" service. This technology allows the home user to set their exercise goals online and track the results of each workout automatically. The iFit service also provides a series of videos designed to guide the viewer through workouts of any difficulty level. Once the iFit module is properly installed and configured, little additional maintenance is required.
Step 1
Direct your web browser to www.ifit.com and click on the "Register Now" link located in the upper-right corner. Examine the back of the registration card that came packaged with your iFit module and locate the activation code. Input this code into the appropriate field on the registration page.

Step 2
Review the medical disclaimer and click on the checkbox labeled "I understand and agree" if you wish to proceed. Select your place of purchase, then click on the button labeled "Confirm Activation Code." Input the requested information to complete your iFit account.
Step 3
Plug one end of the USB cable into the corresponding port on your iFit module, then plug the remaining end into any available USB port on your computer. Direct your web browser to www.ifit.com/install and click on the button labeled "Install Now." Follow the onscreen instructions; when prompted, select the SSID that corresponds to your home network and input any required security information.
Step 4
Disconnect the USB cable from both the computer and the iFit module. Examine your treadmill; if it is currently powered on, turn it off by setting the circuit breaker, located near the power cord, to the "off" position. Unplug the power cord from its electrical outlet.
Step 5
Insert the iFit module into the port located on the treadmill's console. Plug the treadmill's power cord back in and set the circuit breaker to the "reset" position. Insert the treadmill key into the console, wait fifteen seconds, then remove the key. Wait for the module to update the treadmill's firmware; this can take up to two hours to complete.
Step 6
Clip the treadmill key to your waist and stand on the treadmill. Insert your key into the console and use the "increase" or "decrease" buttons to select the option labeled "iFit training" from the menu. Press "Enter" to confirm your selection; the treadmill will begin downloading your first iFit workout.
